The Full Story

Tagum City is the capital of the Davao del Norte province. When it comes to singing, the Musikahan festival displays the skills of Tagumeneos, Mindanaoans, and Filipinos. Various local bands and chorales, as well as visiting international groups, will perform throughout the festival, which begins at the end of February and runs until the first week of March. In the Philippines, this event is regarded as an all-inclusive music festival. It is a unique festival in that it recognizes the skills of all Filipinos generally when it comes to music composition, performance, and invention. #SUPPORTLOCAL #TAGUMPAY <3

The Musikahan Festival seeks to highlight Tagumeneos' musical abilities and skills. The festival's objective is to provide additional possibilities for young people to succeed in the music world. The yearly event fosters a vision of a better and prosperous future for young folks by developing talents in the arts and building new means for meaningful work, particularly for out-of-school children. It also intends to continue supporting the cultural and arts programs not just in the province, but throughout the country. Finally, the event promotes Tagum City as Mindanao's Music Capital. #FEELINGCREATIVE <3

This collage is about my likes throughout my childhood. The origami at the top left corner that has the Japanese word "suki" means "like" or "favorite" Aside from it is fun reminiscing your favorites before, it is also good for your memory. Reminiscence is the sharing of ideas and feelings about one's experiences in order to recollect and think on significant events in one's life. The capacity to remember and reflect assists older individuals in remembering who they used to be and defining their identity in the present time. Also, making this collage reminded me of my previous likes or preferences, and it helped me to validate my life. By expressing myself via my memories, I can tell what was (and still is) significant to me, such as stars I admired, beloved pets, favorite foods, and life-changing experiences. It helps me to rediscover my feeling of self and identity. #GOODOLDDAYS <3

My complete name is "Aya Sabas," yep, it is that short, and it can still be read Aya Sabas when spelt backward. The first picture is decorative text or font while the second picture is a doodle. Doodles are jumbled, random markings on paper that turn out to be more significant than initially imagined. Doodling is a vital technique for children, teenagers, and adults to unwind, concentrate, comprehend new ideas, retain information, think creatively, enhance cognition, and promote outcomes. Also, decorative fonts give the text an appealing look while preserving its aesthetic appeal. This activity was completed as part of my Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Regions class. We were encouraged to write our complete names on a piece of paper and decorate it anyway we saw suitable (basing on our own creativity.) #FEELINGCREATIVE <3
Quarter 2 | Activity 7
Activity 7 was about creating any artwork that depicts our society today. I chose to make a quilling paper peacock as a depiction of our society today since a peacock is a sign of rebirth and regeneration, as well as power, dignity, and integrity. Today's society, in my opinion, is changing gradually. The process through which human interactions, relationships, behavior patterns, and cultural norms evolve over time is referred to as social change. These changes eventually affect cultural and social institutions, beliefs, and regulations, which will undoubtedly have a long-term influence on society. These shifts and transformations are not always positive or negative, but they are significant. Since the election approaches, we will have a new leader to vote for in the country, we should consider everyone's wellbeing, as this is a fresh beginning for us (rebirth). This activity was fun, and I put my all into it. I have done some quilling before and that is why I did this one since for me it is enjoyable and relaxing. I put it into frame for it to serve as a decoration and I just put my name into it so that visitors would know that I did this one. #FEELINGPROUD <3

THE VITAL
ART OF TODAY
"How essential is contemporary art production in today’s era? Support your answer."
Contemporary art production is essential in today’s era since it embraces the notion that art is inextricably linked to life and the environment in which we live. It's frequently more important to consider what a piece is about than how it appears. Rather than being an image or thing to admire, contemporary art practice has evolved into an interchange, a junction, or an intervention for a reflective engagement between the artist and the viewer. Also, contemporary art is art created by active artists now. As such, it represents the numerous, global, and ever-changing issues that define our world. Interest, an open mind, and a willingness to engage in discourse and debate are the finest tools for understanding a work of contemporary art. Beyond words, an artwork can connect on a new level. Contemporary art encourages the audience to think for themselves; as a conduit, the work allows the viewer to fill in the blanks and engage in a new narrative that the work may elicit, so producing discourse, new responsibility, and new possible ownership of an idea. If science, or “truth,” provides us with facts and evidence to answer questions, art arouses curiosity by asking more questions rather than providing answers, allowing for ambiguity, new narratives, and the possibility of numerous “truths.”
With technical innovation and democratized Internet access, perhaps we can now facilitate worldviews that explore our inherent curiosity through creativity and reasoning. In the twenty-first century, we can examine and explore a global dialogue between many disciplines of the Arts and Science, as well as embrace our cultural landscape through cooperation in the context of current ethical discussion. Art shows us where we are as a civilization and, at times, predicts where we are going. The arts, both visual and musical, also allow us to reach and completely grasp elements of ourselves that cannot be conveyed verbally. Love, faith, compassion, friendship, generosity, and many more concepts cannot be properly comprehended through the limited, linear language. This is why artists employ metaphor: to paint a picture that conveys something broader and more true to the totality of what we mean by these words. There is no future, past, or present without the contemporary art production, i.e. you must have a ‘now' before you can have a history or a future. The terms yesterday and tomorrow are about the present, to the contemporary. The experiences of a quickly changing existence and fresh knowledge of the world are reflected in the production or making of contemporary art. While earlier art commemorated the past, contemporary art frequently represents the science and emotions connected with living in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, a time of fast and sometimes chaotic change. Having contemporary art may improve your knowledge of the period in which you live, it may open a creative door for you, and, most of all, you may experience a brief epiphany in which everything suddenly makes sense in a calm, beautiful, and novel way.
A way of expressing thoughts and emotions is through contemporary art production; without it, people would live a dull and uninteresting life where they would have to cope with the dilemma of how they express themselves, either they have nothing to express their emotions or nothing to feel calm about. Art is also a remedy, especially now that we are facing a COVID- 19 pandemic and have more time to ponder and reflect on ourselves in the terrible and positive outcomes that the crisis has brought us. Even though some of us dislike generating contemporary art, admit it or not, witnessing someone producing or performing contemporary art helps us feel at ease and tranquil; this is the power that art creation provides us. Everything is an art and all of it offers significance to our lives and helps us comprehend our surroundings. Art appreciation enhances our quality of life and helps us feel happy, according to scientific research. We increase our problem-solving abilities and open our brains to new ideas when we produce art.
